The USS Halibut
Perhaps the most significant submarine of the Cold War era, USS Halibut was the first nuclear missile submarine in the U.S. Navy. After performing its last Regulus patrol, it became a black operations submarine, allegedly performing such feats as locating and photographing a sunken Russian submarine (The Jennifer Project) and tapping one of the USSR's communications cables (Operation Ivy Bells). Read about some of the sub's exploits at: http://www.usshalibut.com/

The USS Grayback
The only submarine to ever launch the Regulus II missile, Grayback could carry four Regulus I or two Regulus II missiles. A "sister ship" to Growler, Grayback actually had some structural differences which made it a superior boat.
